On 6th December, 2010 around 3.20 pm, Chief Minister of Penang, Lim Guan Eng together with state assemblymen and the Secretary of the Penang Municipal Council have held a brief ceremony to name the Jelutong Expressway to Lebuhraya Tun Dr. Lim Chong Eu. It is an 18-km stretch which spans through several landmarks build during Tun Dr Lim’s tenure as the second Chief Minister of Penang. CM Lim also told the press that the Penang Bridge has been picked as one of the world sexiest building (structure) in the world. It is on the ninth spot and mentioned in Reuters as : “As slinky as a screen siren, this particular choice is almost more sculpture than bridge. Slithering across the water to connect the island of Penang with the Malaysian mainland, the bridge is also known for its annual marathon.” (Link here : uk.reuters.com Heavy rain has kept the ceremony rather brief but nevertheless, it is a memorable event to mark the occasion, less than 10 days after Tun Dr Lim’s passing on 24 November, 2010
